<p>This dataset contains data on population by sex and age on the basis of the results of the Census Data of Latvia, which was carried out on 12 February 1935. </p>
<p>Dataset "Latvian Population by Sex and Age in 1935 Census Data" was published implementing project "Historical Sociology of Modern Restorations: a Cross-Time Comparative Study of Post-Communist Transformation in the Baltic States" from 2018 to 2022. Project leader is prof. Zenonas Norkus. Project is funded by the European Social Fund according to the activity "Improvement of researchers' qualification by implementing world-class R&D projects' of Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712".</p>

<p>The language of the data sources is Latvian (lat).</p>
<p>The names of Latvian cities and towns in Lithuanian are used by the compilers of table according to online database <a href=" http://pasaulio-vardai.vlkk.lt" target="_blank">”World Place Names”</a> published by the Science and Encyclopaedia Publishing Centre and the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language, except for Abrene (Pytalovo, Jaunlatgale), Griva, Livani, Birži, Mazsalaca, Riga Jurmala, Sloka, Subate and Varaklani towns. </p>
<p>Dataset (data and (or) metadata) “Latvian Population by Sex and Age in 1935 Census Data” from 2019-11-25 to 2021-10-01 was available on the portal of Lithuanian Data Archive for Humanities and Social Sciences (LiDA) www.lidata.eu; object PID: www.lidata.eu/data/histat/LiDA_HISTDEM_0122; produced by Žvaliauskas Giedrius 2019-11-25. </p>
