\nMajor investigated questions: a list of jobs that might be held by people respondents know (family members or relatives, close friends or someone else) was proposed with job titles (bus or lorry driver, a senior executive of a large company (etc.; 10 jobs in total)), and the questionnaire asked whether respondents knew a number of people, who works in one of the mentioned jobs. Respondents were asked whether they agree or disagree on the following statements, such as “Differences in income in Lithuania are too large”; “For a society to be fair, differences in people’s standard of living should be small” (etc.; 4 statements in total). The questionnaire asked who should primarily provide health care to the sick and who should care for the elderly. Respondents were asked in the past 12 months, how often they have taken part in activities of groups or associations of leisure, sports and culture, activities of political parties, political groups or political associations, as well as activities of charitable or religious organisations that do voluntary work. The evaluation of the statement “People like me don’t have any say about what the government does” was taken into consideration. After providing the list of situations, the respondents were asked who they would first turn to for help during the listed situations (10 situations in total). Furthermore, the respondents were asked to say how they felt during the last 4 weeks, had they felt that they lacked companionship, were they isolated from others and were left out. Lithuanian respondents were asked to answer whether people would try to take advantage of them if they had the opportunity, if they would try to be honest with them, if people can be trusted in general, or whether they need to be very careful with people. The survey investigated the trust in Lithuanian courts and major private companies. Respondents were asked whether they would agree with the statements such as “Adult children have a duty to look after their elderly parents”; “You should take care of yourself and your family first, before helping other people” and “People who are better off should help friends who are less well off”. The questionnaire asked how often respondents feel pressure and receive too many demands from their family, relatives or friends, and have any of the mentioned people acted angry or upset with the respondent during the past 4 weeks. Respondents were asked how often they go out to eat or drink with three more friends or acquaintances who are not family members, and how often do they make new friends or acquaintances during these occasions. The questionnaire asked to indicate how many people do respondents have contact with on a typical weekday irrespective of whether they know them or not. including anyone they chat with, talk to, or text, either face-to-face, by phone, internet or any other communication device, and how many of these people do they see face-to-face on a typical weekday. When respondents were asked to think of a parent, a sibling, an adult child, a close friend, a family member other than a spouse or partner, parents, siblings and adult children they see most often, they were asked to indicate how often they see them face-to-face, by phone, internet or other means of communication. Respondents were also asked to think about how much communication with all family members and close friends is through text messages, mobile phones, or other communication devices that use the Internet. The survey asked Lithuanians to rate their physical and mental health and asked if they had felt unhappy and depressed in the last 4 weeks, and whether they felt they had difficulties that were piling up so high that they could not overcome them. In addition, the respondents were asked whether they would agree or disagree with the statement “It is easy for me to accomplish my goals”. Respondents were also asked how satisfied are with their life, as well as when thinking about the total income, and they were asked how difficult or easy it is for them to make ends meet. Questionnaire also asked many languages do they speak well enough to hold a conversation in, including the language(s) they speak at home. The respondents were asked whether they would agree or disagree with the statements such as “It is all right to develop friendships with people just because they can be of use to you” and “When another person does a favour for you, you should feel obligated to pay that person back”. The next question was to find out whether, when going out to eat or a drink with three or more friends or acquaintances who are not members of the respondents' family, they often find themselves in situations where one person is dominating the conversation at these occasions, and the consideration is given to who sits near whom. At the end of the survey, when respondents were asked to think of a person from the respondents' hometown or region who is not a member of their family and with whom they have the most frequent contact, the respondents were asked if they often communicate with that person face-to-face, by phone, via the Internet or by any other communication device. A similar question was asked about the forms of communication with a person from the respondents' religious community.\n
\nSocio-demographic characteristics: gender, age, level of education, membership in organizations, religion, marital status, nationality, political views, political participation, size of household, respondent's average personal income, place of residence, working situation of the respondent and of his/her spouse or partner.\n

Multistage. First stage - the territory of the Republic of Lithuania divided into 10 administrative units (counties) based on Nomenclature of Territorial Units as used in the official EU statistics. Each county is represented in the sample proportionally to its population size.

Second stage - the total number of interviews in each survey region (county) allocated to 6 strata in proportion to the population of each stratum. The stratum is defined on the basis of a settlement size.

Third stage - number of PSU’s (“PSU” - clusters) allocated by size of settlement depending on the share of population living in a certain type of settlement. PSU’s selected randomly form each stratum (county and settlement size combination cell) list. In total 109 for this survey. Weight factor makes survey sample representative of the total population by gender, age and urban/rural population.

Second step: weighting data by the settlement size. At this step percentage of the residents of major cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys), other towns and rural area is counted based on official statistics as required total. Finally weighting factor is counted by dividing the required total for each city or settlement size. This weight makes survey sample representative of the population by gender, age and settlement size.

\nPagrindiniai nagrinėti klausimai: \npateikus darbų, kuriuos gali dirbti pažįstami asmenys (šeimos nariai arba giminaičiai, artimi draugai arba kažkas kitas), sąrašą (autobuso ar sunkvežimio vairuotojas, didelės kompanijos aukšto rango vadovas (ir kt.; iš viso 10) klausta, ar respondentai pažįsta keletą žmonių, dirbančių tokį darbą. Klausta, ar respondentai pritartų teiginiams: „Pajamų skirtumai Lietuvoje yra per dideli“; „Tam, kad visuomenė būtų teisinga, žmonių pragyvenimo lygio skirtumai turi būti maži“ (ir kt.; iš viso 4 teiginiai). Aiškintasi, kas pirmiausia turėtų teikti sveikatos priežiūrą sergantiems bei turėtų rūpintis vyresnio amžiaus žmonių priežiūra. Teirautasi, ar dažnai per pastaruosius 12 mėn. respondentai dalyvavo grupių ar asociacijų, skirtų laisvalaikiui, sportui arba kultūrai, veiklose, politinių partijų, politinių grupių ar politinių asociacijų bei labdaros ar religinių organizacijų veiklose. Vertintas teiginys – „Tokių žmonių kaip aš nuomonė apie tai, ką daro valdžia, nieko nereiškia“. Pateikus situacijų sąrašus, klausta į ką arba kur respondentai kreiptųsi pagalbos pirmiausia (iš viso 10 situacijų). Toliau prašyta atsakyti, ar dažnai jie per pastarąsias 4 savaites jautėsi, kad trūksta draugijos, yra nuo kitų izoliuoti bei palikti nuošalyje. Apklausoje dalyvavusių Lietuvos gyventojų prašyta atsakyti, ar žmonės, progai pasitaikius, bandytų jais pasinaudoti, ar stengtųsi būti sąžiningi su jais bei ar apskritai žmonėmis galima pasitikėti, ar su žmonėmis reikia būti labai atsargiam. Tirtas respondentų pasitikėjimas Lietuvos teismais bei didžiosiomis privačiomis kompanijomis. Klausta, ar respondentai pritartų teiginiams: „Suaugusių vaikų pareiga yra rūpintis savo pagyvenusiais tėvais“; „Prieš padedant kitiems žmonėms, pirmiausia reikia pasirūpinti savimi ir savo šeima“ ir „Turtingesni žmonės turėtų padėti ne tokiems turtingiems draugams“. Teirautasi, ar dažnai respondentai jaučia, kad jų šeimos nariai, giminaičiai ar draugai per daug iš jų reikalauja bei ar dažnai per pastarąsias 4 savaites bent vienas iš jų elgėsi su jais piktai arba nuliūdino. Norėta sužinoti, kaip dažnai respondentai išeina pavalgyti ar išgerti su trimis ar daugiau draugų arba pažįstamų, kurie nėra šeimos nariai bei ar dažnai tokiais atvejais susiranda naujų draugų arba pažįstamų. Prašyta nurodyti su kiek vidutiniškai žmonių bendrauja įprastą savaitės dieną, nepriklausomai nuo to, ar juos pažįsta, ar ne, įskaitant bendravimą tiesiogiai susitikus, telefonu, internetu ar kitomis ryšio priemonėmis, bei apytiksliai su kiek iš šių žmonių įprastą savaitės dieną respondentai susitinka tiesiogiai. Respondentams pagalvojus apie vieną iš tėvų, brolį ar seserį, savo pilnametį vaiką, artimą draugą, kitą šeimos narį, išskyrus savo sutuoktinį ar partnerį, tėvus, brolius ar seseris bei pilnamečius vaikus, su kuriais matosi dažniausiai, prašyta nurodyti, kaip dažnai su jais bendrauja susitikę tiesiogiai, telefonu, internetu ar kitomis ryšio priemonėmis. Taip pat pagalvojus prašyta nurodyti, kokia dalis bendravimo su visais šeimos nariais ir artimais draugais vyksta naudojant tekstines žinutes, mobiliuosius telefonus ar kitokias internetinio ryšio priemones. Apklausoje dalyvavusių Lietuvos gyventojų prašyta įvertinti savo tiek fizinę, tiek psichinę sveikatą ir teirautasi, ar per pastarąsias 4 savaites jie jautėsi nelaimingi ir prislėgti bei jautė, kad sunkumų prisikaupė tiek daug, jog yra nepajėgūs jų įveikti. Toliau prašyta atsakyti, ar teisingas ar neteisingas atrodo teiginys – „Man yra lengva pasiekti savo tikslus“. Teirautasi, kiek respondentai yra patenkinti savo dabartiniu gyvenimu bei galvojant apie bendras namų ūkio pajamas prašyta nurodyti, ar jiems yra sunku ar lengva sudurti galą su galu. Aiškintasi, keliomis kalbomis, įskaitant tą, kuria šneka namuose, kalba tiek, kad galėtų palaikyti pokalbį. Klausta, ar respondentai pritartų teiginiams: „Yra normalu susidraugauti su žmonėmis tik todėl, kad jie gali būti jums naudingi“ ir „Kai kitas žmogus padaro jums paslaugą, jūs turėtumėte jausti pareigą jam atsilyginti“. Toliau siekta sužinoti, ar dažnai išėję pavalgyti ar išgerti su trimis ar daugiau draugų arba pažįstamų, kurie nėra respondentų šeimos nariai, atsiduria tokiose situacijose, kai to susitikimo metu pokalbyje dominuoja vienas žmogus bei atkreipiamas dėmesys į tai, kas šalia ko sėdi. Apklausos pabaigoje, paprašius pagalvoti apie asmenį iš respondentų gimtojo miesto arba regiono, kuris nėra jų šeimos narys ir su kuriuo bendrauja dažniausiai, teirautasi, ar dažnai su tuo asmeniu jie bendrauja susitikę tiesiogiai, telefonu, internetu ar kitomis ryšio priemonėmis. Analogiškas klausimas buvo užduotas ir apie bendravimo formas su asmeniu iš respondentų religinės bendruomenės.\n
\nSocialinės demografinės charakteristikos: lytis, amžius, mokymosi (studijų) trukmė, išsilavinimo lygis, respondento ir jo vyro/žmonos/nuolatinio partnerio darbinė padėtis, profesija (užsiėmimas), respondento narystė profesinėse sąjungose, išpažįstama religija, dalyvavimas religinėse apeigose, politinės pažiūros, politinis ir visuomeninis aktyvumas, balsavimas paskutiniuose Seimo rinkimuose, politinis ir visuomeninis aktyvumas, tautybė, namų ūkio dydis, respondento vidutinės ir bendros vidutinės namų ūkio mėnesio pajamos, šeimyninė padėtis, gyvenamoji vietovė.\n

\nDataverse kolekcijoje „Tarptautinė socialinio tyrimo programa“ talpinamos nuo 2010 m. Lietuvoje vykdomos Tarptautinės socialinio tyrimo programos (TSTP) apklausos.\n

\nTSTP yra tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo programa kasmet atliekanti apklausas įvairiomis socialiniams mokslams aktualiomis temomis. 1984 m. ją įkūrė Australijos, Vokietijos, Didžiosios Britanijos ir JAV narės steigėjos ir nuo to laiko TSTP priklauso nariai, atstovaujantys įvairioms kultūroms visame pasaulyje. Daugiapakopė. Pirmasis etapas – pagal oficialioje ES statistikoje naudojamą teritorinių vienetų nomenklatūrą, Lietuvos Respublikos teritorija suskirstyta į 10 administracinių vienetų (apskričių). Kiekviena apskritis imtyje proporcingai atstovaujama pagal jos gyventojų skaičių.

Antrasis etapas – bendras interviu skaičius kiekviename tiriamame regione (apskrityje) paskirstytas 6 sluoksniams, proporcingiems kiekvieno sluoksnio gyventojų skaičiui. Sluoksnis apibrėžiamas pagal gyvenvietės dydį. \n

Trečiasis etapas – atsižvelgiant į tam tikro tipo gyvenvietėse gyvenančių gyventojų dalį, pagal gyvenvietės dydį paskirstyti pirminės atrankos vienetai (vadinamieji „PSU“ arba lizdai). Atrinkti PSU atsitiktine tvarka suformuoja kiekvieno sluoksnio (apskričių ir gyvenviečių dydžio derinio elementų) sąrašą. Iš viso šiame tyrime jų buvo 109. Atrankos būdas namų ūkiui nustatyti – atsitiktinio maršruto procedūra, o respondentui – vyresnis nei 18m bei paskutinis gimtadienis.

Trys pirmiau minėti kintamieji naudojami duomenų vertės nustatymui. Statistiniai duomenys apie skirtingų amžiaus grupių vyrų ir moterų procentinę dalį buvo suskaičiuoti ir panaudoti apskaičiuojant svertinį veiksnį kaip reikiamą sumą. Svorinis koeficientas apskaičiuojamas, kuomet reikiamos bendros grupės (pvz., 20-29 m. amžiaus vyrų, gyvenančių kaimo vietovėje) skaičius padauginamas iš pasiektos šios grupės apklausos imties bendros sumos. Svertinis veiksnys sudaro tyrimo imtį reprezentatyvią pagal gyventojų lytį, amžių ir miesto / kaimo gyventojų skaičių.

Antrasis žingsnis: svertinis duomenų vertinimas pagal gyvenvietės dydį. Šiame etape didžiųjų miestų (Vilniaus, Kauno, Klaipėdos, Klaipėdos, Šiaulių ir Panevėžio), kitų miestų ir kaimo vietovių gyventojų procentinė dalis skaičiuojama atsižvelgiant į oficialią statistiką kaip reikiamą sumą. Galiausiai svorinis koeficientas apskaičiuojamas kuomet reikiama suma padalijama pagal kiekvieno miesto ar gyvenvietės dydį. Šis veiksnys sudaro tyrimo imtį reprezentatyvią pagal gyventojų lytį, amžių ir gyvenvietės dydį.
