    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;The purpose of the study&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: to analyse Lithuanian residents attitude towards health care system, to indicate their opinion about accessibility of services and its quality, to assess peculiarities of residents lifestyle.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Major investigated questions&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: respondents were asked to assess their life these days and tell how happy or unhappy they are. Trust in Lithuania&amp;apos;s educational and health care system was analysed. It was analysed if Lithuania&amp;apos;s health care system needs changes. Respondents were asked if it is fair that people with higher incomes can afford better education for their children and better health care than people with lower incomes. When question block was presented, respondents assessed effectiveness of health care system of Lithuania, its possible changes in a few years, government&amp;apos;s role in providing health care services and validity of people&amp;apos;s usage of health care services. Respondents were asked if they would be willing to pay higher taxes to improve the level of health care for all people in Lithuania.  It was analysed if the government should fund preventive medical checkups, treatment of HIV/AIDS, programmes to prevent obesity and organ transplants. It was questioned if people should have access to publicly funded health care even if they do not hold Lithuanian citizenship or their behaviour is damaging their health. Respondents were asked how many people in Lithuania do not have access to the health care service they need. When providing question block, respondents were asked for what reasons severe health problems may originate. Respondents opinion about alternative medicine was analysed. When providing statements group, respondents were asked to disclose their opinion about Lithuanian doctors and their work methods. Respondents physical and mental state in the last 4 weeks was analysed. Respondents were asked if in the last 12 months they visited or were visited by a doctor or an alternative health care practitioner. It was analysed if in the last 12 months respondents have been in hospital or a clinic longer that one day. When providing statements group about accessibility to health care services, respondents were asked if in the last 12 months they did not get the medical treatment they needed. It was questioned how possible it is that respondents being seriously ill, they would receive the best treatment available in Lithuania and treatment from the doctor of their choice. Respondents were asked to answer if they are satisfied with the health care system in Lithuania. Respondents satisfaction of the treatment received when they last visited the doctor, when they last visited an alternative health care practitioner and when they were in a hospital the last time was analysed. Spread of bad habits, peculiarities of physical activity and nourishment was analysed. At the end of the interview respondents were asked to evaluate their physical and mental health. Respondents were asked if they have a long-standing illness, a chronic condition or a disability. At the end of the research interviewed Lithuanian residents indicated their height and weight. They were asked what kind of health insurance they have.

&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Socio-demographic characteristics&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: gender, age, level of education, membership in organizations, religion, marital status, nationality, political views, political participation, size of household, respondent&amp;apos;s average personal income, place of residence, working situation of the respondent and of his/her spouse or partner.</description>
