\nMajor investigated questions: respondents were asked how satisfied are they with their life as a whole nowadays. It was questioned if the things respondents do in their lives are worthwhile. Respondents were asked if they felt happy yesterday and if they felt anxious. Respondents were asked to describe the quality of life in Lithuania compared to the average of the European Union countries, to 12 months ago and to indicate their expectations for the next 12 months. It was analysed if the life of those who are children today will be easier, more difficult or about the same as the life of those from respondents generation. Respondents were asked to assess if Lithuania is a good place or not a good place to live for racial and ethnic minorities, gay or lesbian people and immigrants from other countries. It was questioned if respondents had the opportunity, would they like to move permanently to another country, or would they prefer not to move permanently to another country. Respondents were asked if most people can be trusted, or that they can’t be too careful in dealing with people and if most people would try to take advantage of respondents if they got the chance, or would they try to be fair. It was questioned if most of the time people try to be helpful or that they are mostly looking out for themselves. Respondents attitude towards people who run the country and towards society was analysed. It was questioned if differences in income in Lithuania are too large. Respondents were asked how important coming from a wealthy family is for getting ahead in life. It was analysed how much respondents trust in the Seimas, the legal system, the police, the press and political parties. It was questioned how efficient the system of health care and education in Lithuania is. Respondents were asked if doctors and nurses, teachers and professors give special advantages to certain people. Tension between different social groups in Lithuania was assessed. It was questioned how satisfied respondents are with the kind of society we live in. Respondents were asked how satisfied they are with the present state of the economy, work of present government and with the way democracy works in Lithuania. At the end, respondents were asked what they think about the state of education and health services, and state of pension provision in Lithuania nowadays.\n

respondent's trade union membership, religion, participation in religious rites, political views, political and social activism, voting in the last Seimas elections, nationality, household size, \nStandardized questionnaire was provided for the respondents in Lithuanian (lit).\n

\nDataset (data and metadata) “Societal Wellbeing I, January - February 2013” from 2015-04-09 to 2021-10-01 was available in the portal of Lithuanian Data Archive for Humanities and Social Sciences (LiDA) www.lidata.eu; object PID: http://www.lidata.eu/data/quant/LiDA_KITI_0269. The first data edition was produced by Žvaliauskas Giedrius 2015-04-09.

The regional fieldwork supervisors conducted follow-up interviews with 10% of the sample, of which 90% were conducted by telephone and 10% by face-to-face interviews. During the follow-up interviews, contact sheets were checked and questionnaires were completed. In case of doubts about a change of address, a violation of the selection procedure, and the proper conduct of the interview, the regional supervisors checked all aspects of the interviewer's work. The field supervisors visually checked all completed questionnaires and contact sheets to ensure that they were completed in accordance with all instructions and references. Standard logical check procedures were carried out during the entry and processing of survey data.

Three above variables used for data weighting. Statistics on percentage of males and females of different age groups counted and used in counts of weighing factor as required total. Weighting factor is counted by required total for the group (e. g. males aged 20-29 y. living in rural area) by the achieved survey sample total for this group. Weight factor makes survey sample representative of the total population by gender, age and urban/rural population.

Second step: weighting data by the settlement size. At this step percentage of the residents of major cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys), other towns and rural area is counted based on official statistics as required total. Finally weighting factor is counted by dividing the required total for each city or settlement size. This weight makes survey sample representative of the population by gender, age and settlement size.

\nPagrindiniai nagrinėti klausimai: respondentų klausta, kiek jie yra patenkinti savo dabartiniu gyvenimu. Aiškintasi, ar prasminga yra tai, ką jie veikia gyvenime. Buvo užduoti klausimai, ar vakar respondentai jautėsi laimingi bei ar jautėsi susirūpinę. Prašyta apibūdinti gyvenimo kokybę Lietuvoje, lyginant su ES šalių vidurkiu, lyginant su gyvenimo kokybe prieš 12 mėn. bei nurodyti savo lūkesčius ateinantiems 12 mėn. Tirta nuomonė, ar gyvenimas tų žmonių, kurie šiuo metu yra vaikai, bus lengvesnis, sunkesnis ar panašus kaip respondentų kartos žmonių gyvenimas. Respondentų taip pat prašyta įvertinti, ar Lietuva yra gera vieta ar nėra gera vieta gyventi rasinėms ir etninėms mažumoms, gėjams ir lesbietėms bei imigrantams iš kitų šalių. Prašyta, atsakyti, jei respondentai turėtų labai gerą galimybę, ar išvyktų visam laikui gyventi į kitą šalį, ar labiau linktų neišvykti visam laikui gyventi į kitą šalį. Klausta, ar dauguma žmonių galima pasitikėti, ar su žmonėmis reikia būti labai atsargiam bei ar dauguma žmonių, progai pasitaikius, stengtųsi respondentais pasinaudoti, ar stengtųsi būti sąžiningi. Teirautasi nuomonės, ar žmonės dažniausiai stengiasi padėti kitiems, ar rūpinasi tik savimi. Tirtas respondentų požiūris į valstybę valdančius žmones bei į visuomenę. Aiškintasi, ar pajamų skirtumai Lietuvoje yra per dideli. Buvo užduotas klausimas, ar norint gyvenime ko nors pasiekti, yra svarbu būti kilusiam iš turtingos šeimos. Vertintas pasitikėjimas Seimu, teisine sistema, policija, spauda ir politinėmis partijomis. Teirautasi, kiek yra efektyvi Lietuvos sveikatos apsauga bei švietimo sistema. Tirta nuomonė, ar gydytojai ir slaugės, o taip pat ir mokytojai ir dėstytojai kai kuriems žmonėms teikia privilegijų. Buvo vertinama įtampa tarp skirtingų visuomenės grupių Lietuvoje. Toliau norėta sužinoti, kiek respondentai yra patenkinti ta visuomene, kurioje mes gyvename. Klausta, kiek respondentai yra patenkinti dabartine Lietuvos ekonomine situacija, dabartinės vyriausybės darbu bei kaip demokratija veikia. Pabaigoje teirautasi nuomonės apie dabartinę Lietuvos švietimo sistemos bei sveikatos apsaugos sistemos būklę, taip pat ir apie dabartinę aprūpinimo pensijomis sistemos būklę.\n

Regioniniai lauko tyrimo supervizoriai atliko kontrolinius interviu su 10 proc. imties, iš kurių 90 proc. atlikti telefonu ir 10 proc. tiesioginio interviu būdu. Atliekant kontrolinius interviu buvo tikrinami kontaktų lapai ir pildomi kontroliniai klausimynai. Iškilus abejonėms dėl nurodyto adreso pakeitimo, respondento atrinkimo procedūros pažeidimo bei deramo apklausos atlikimo regioniniai supervizoriai tikrino visus apklausėjo darbo aspektus. Lauko tyrimo supervizoriai vizualiai patikrino visus užpildytus klausimynus ir kontaktų lapus, kad įsitikintų, jog jie užpildyti vadovaujantis visomis instrukcijomis bei nuorodomis. Standartinės loginės patikros procedūros buvo vykdomos suvedant ir tvarkant tyrimo duomenis.

Trys pirmiau minėti kintamieji naudojami duomenų vertės nustatymui. Statistiniai duomenys apie skirtingų amžiaus grupių vyrų ir moterų procentinę dalį buvo suskaičiuoti ir panaudoti apskaičiuojant svertinį veiksnį kaip reikiamą sumą. Svorio koeficientas apskaičiuojamas, kuomet reikiamos bendros grupės (pvz., 20-29 metų amžiaus vyrų, gyvenančių kaimo vietovėje) skaičius padauginamas iš pasiektos šios grupės apklausos imties bendros sumos. Svertinis veiksnys sudaro tyrimo imtį reprezentatyvią pagal gyventojų lytį, amžių ir miesto / kaimo gyventojų skaičių.

Antrasis žingsnis: svertinis duomenų vertinimas pagal gyvenvietės dydį. Šiame etape didžiųjų miestų (Vilniaus, Kauno, Klaipėdos, Klaipėdos, Šiaulių ir Panevėžio), kitų miestų ir kaimo vietovių gyventojų procentinė dalis skaičiuojama atsižvelgiant į oficialią statistiką kaip reikiamą sumą. Galiausiai svorio koeficientas apskaičiuojamas kuomet reikiama suma padalijama pagal kiekvieno miesto ar gyvenvietės dydį. Šis veiksnys sudaro tyrimo imtį reprezentatyvią pagal gyventojų lytį, amžių ir gyvenvietės dydį.
