    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;
The purpose of the study&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
to investigate Lithuania`s citizens opinion about public security institutions. 
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Major investigated questions&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
respondents were asked to indicate what kind of public safety issues are most important in Lithuania. They were also asked whether they had contacts with public safety agencies during the past five years and how they assess work of these agencies. Respondents were asked to evaluate certain measures intended to improve work quality of public safety agencies. Another question was about the most important sources of information on public safety. Respondents&amp;apos; feeling of safety was also evaluated and they were asked whether they or any of their family members became a victim of crime during the last five years. Respondents were asked what criminogenic situation is and what the risk of becoming a crime victim is. Those respondents, who felt that there is a possibility of becoming a crime victim, were asked where this could happen. Respondents were also asked about their contact with the police during the past five years.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Socio-demographic characteristics&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
gender, age, education, occupation, nationality, monthly family income per one family member, place of residence, use of the Internet.</description>
