    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;The purpose of the study&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: to analyse Lithuanian residents attitude toward social inequality.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Major investigated questions&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: two question blocks were provided to analyse respondents opinion about importance of different actions in order to achieve something in life. Opinion about fairness in earnings of interviewed Lithuanian residents. Respondents evaluated adequacy of monthly pay of different groups of people to positions held, i. e. how much they earn each month after taxes and how much they should ear for their work. It was analysed how respondents feel about state&amp;apos;s role in reduction of social inequality when providing questions group. It was analysed if people who receives high income should pay a larger share of their income in taxes than those with low incomes, the same share, or a smaller share. Taxes which are paid by people with higher incomes in Lithuania were assessed. It was analysed if it is right that people with higher incomes can afford better health care and education than people with lower incomes. In question block it was analysed if in respondents opinion conflicts between different social groups in Lithuania exits. Lithuanian residents self and their families in which they were raised assigning to specific social group was analysed. Respondents were asked to compare their present work (or last work) to the work of their father when respondents were 15 years old. Respondents opinion about importance of different things when deciding how much people ought to earn was analysed. Respondents evaluated fairness of received pay, i. e. appropriate to their qualification and efforts. Respondents indicated which type best describes Lithuanian society and what type it should be. It was analysed where and what kind of work did respondents father and mother had and about how many books where in their family&amp;apos;s house when respondents were 15 years old. It was analysed where did interviewed Lithuanian residents worked when they finished full-time education, what was their main occupation there, where they work now and what is their main occupation. Respondents had an opportunity to indicate to which social class they belong. It was questioned about how much money would there be left if the home or apartment where respondents and their families lived would be sold, and any debts, such as mortgage or personal loan, would be paid off. It was also analysed about how much money would there be left if respondents or their families would convert to cash all savings, stocks, or bonds they own, and then any personal debts (not including any home loan) would be paid off. At the end respondents assessed themselves as a person when they were 15 years old and now.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Socio-demographic characteristics&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: gender, age, level of education, membership in organizations, religion, marital status, nationality, political views, political participation, size of household, respondent&amp;apos;s average personal income, place of residence, working situation of the respondent and of his/her spouse or partner.</description>
