    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;
The purpose of the study&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
to find out what Lithuanians know about the problem of trafficking in women, what is society&amp;apos;s attitude towards this problem and its possible solutions.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Major investigated questions&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
respondents were asked why young girls are going to work abroad; what kind of source or recommendations they would use if they could not find a job in Lithuania for a long time and if they hear about the possibility of working abroad. Respondents were also asked whether a lot of women went or were trafficked abroad to work as prostitutes and whether they personally experienced the trafficking in women for prostitution purposes. Other questions were about what the respondents would do if they discover that their close friend or relative was trafficked abroad before their will and works as a prostitute there. Respondents were asked to identify how to deal with human trafficking for prostitution purposes and in what situations must be provided help for the girl who works as a prostitute and who asked for such help.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Socio-demographic characteristics&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: 
gender, age, education, occupation, marital status, nationality, number of family members, number of children under 16 in the family, monthly family income per one family member, place of residence, region.</description>
