    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;
The purpose of the study&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: is to find out Lithuanians&amp;apos; attitudes towards the European Union and their awareness about the integration of Lithuanian into this international organization.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Major investigated questions&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: respondents were asked how they would vote in a referendum on Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU and when it would be particularly relevant for Lithuania to join the EU. They were also asked how the integration into the EU would affect the development of Lithuanian economy and what would be personally relevant consequences to the respondents of this process. Respondents asked whether information about Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU is sufficient and what the explanations of Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU would be appropriate. They were also asked about the people of whom a knowledge about Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU are trusted most and about channels and the people from which the respondents got most information about Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU. Respondents were also asked to indicate where they would primarily seek information about Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU, and whether they constantly track information related to Lithuania&amp;apos;s accession to the EU. Respondents also pointed out what should be the leaders informing the public about the accession to the EU process, and if on the next day a referendum on accession to the EU would be held according to what respondents would make their decision.
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;Socio-demographic characteristics&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;: gender, age, education, occupation, marital status, nationality, number of family members, monthly family income per one family member, place of residence, region.</description>
