The study was carried out over two years (2019-2021), during which, 1268 adolescents studying in 36 gymnasiums located in different areas of Lithuania, participated in four assessments. The first survey took place in October-November 2019 before the onset of the pandemic. The second survey took place five months later, in the spring of 2020 (end of April- early May), during the first pandemic wave. The third survey took place in October-November 2020 at the onset of the second wave of the pandemic. The fourth took place in the spring of 2021 (March-April) during the decline of the second wave of the pandemic. All four surveys were similarly spaced out with a median difference of 23-24 weeks.\n<br><br>\nThe sample is diverse in terms of family and socio-economic backgrounds. Through a multi-stage sampling procedure, 14 out of the 60 Lithuanian urban and rural municipalities were selected based on balanced quotas for socioeconomic indicators and school achievement levels (low, medium, and high). Gymnasiums in selected municipalities were then chosen based on their size and school achievement levels to ensure diversity in the sample. Three of the initially contacted 39 gymnasiums did not participate in the study.\n<br><br>\nThe study was supported by the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT), grant agreement no. Tyrimui atrinktos skirtingo tipo (miesto, rajono, žiedinė) savivaldybės su vidutiniais, žemesniais už vidutinius ir aukštesniais už vidutinius SEK aplinkos bei pasiekimų rodikliais.\n<br>\n<b>Trečiame imties</b> sudarymo etape iš pasirinktų savivaldybių buvo atrinktos tyrime dalyvauti kviečiamos gimnazijos. Siekiant palyginamumo ir atsižvelgiant į tyrimo dizainą (tęstinis tyrimas) bei į tyrimo apimtis ir resursus, dalyvauti tyrime buvo kviečiamos tik gimnazijos (nebuvo kviečiamos progimnazijos, vidurinės mokyklos, profesinės mokyklos). Dėl ribotų tyrimo apimčių nebuvo siekiama ir sudaryti palyginamo dydžio grupių iš mažiau paplitusių mokyklų tipų (pvz., specializuotų sporto, meno mokyklų). Taip pat į tyrimą įtrauktos tik gimnazijos, kuriose mokoma lietuvių kalba, neįtraukiant gimnazijų, kurios veikia didelę tautinę įvairovę turinčiose apskrityse ir savivaldybėse. \n<br>\nMažesnėse savivaldybėse dalyvauti buvo kviečiamos visos gimnazijos, o didesnėse – dalis, atsižvelgiant į numatomą devintokų skaičių 2019/2020 m. m. bei mokinių PUPP ir VBE pasiekimus 2018 m. Šiame atrankos etape buvo siekiama, kad iš tos pačios savivaldybės kviečiamų gimnazijų mokinių pasiekimai atspindėtų įvairovę savivaldybių viduje. Kartu buvo siekiama, kad visos imties požymiai – mokinių skaičius, mokinių pasiekimai, atitiktų bendrą šalies vidurkį, t. y. imtyje nedominuotų nei mažos, nei didelės, nei aukštesnių, nei žemesnių pasiekimų mokyklos. Galutinį kviečiamų mokyklų sąrašą sudarė 39 gimnazijos. Iš gavusių pakvietimus trys tyrime dalyvauti atsisakė. \n<br>\nAtrinktose mokyklose dalyvauti tyrime buvo kviečiami I gimnazijos klasės mokiniai. Iš mažų mokyklų buvo kviečiami visi I klasės mokiniai, o iš didesnių – apie pusę visų besimokančių I gimnazijos klasėse. Pakviestų dalyvauti mokinių tėvai iš tyrimo koordinatorių mokyklose gavo informacinius lapus apie tyrimo tikslus ir eigą, prašymus leisti jų vaikams dalyvauti tyrime ir rašytinio sutikimo formas. Iš 1598 pakviestų tėvų sutiko ir pateikė pasirašytus sutikimus 1291 (80,7 %). Likusieji arba išreiškė raštišką nesutikimą (n = 244; 15 %), arba negrąžino sutikimo formos (n = 59; 15 %). Dalyvauti tyrime buvo pakviesti tik tie mokiniai, kurių tėvai pateikė rašytinį sutikimą ir kurie patys sutiko ekonominės aplinkos sąlygomis. \n<br><br>\nPagrindiniai tyrimo uždaviniai: (1) nustatyti asmeninių tikslų formavimosi dinamiką paauglystėje; (2) įvertinti pagrindinių kontekstinių veiksnių (šeima, mokykla, bendraamžiai) ir individualių savybių poveikį tikslų formavimuisi paauglystėje; (3) įvertinti objektyvių ir subjektyvių socialinės ir ekonominės aplinkos aspektų poveikį tikslų formavimosi turiniui ir procesams paauglystėje. \n<br><br>\nTai pirmas didelės apimties tęstinis tyrimas apie paauglių tikslų formavimąsi Lietuvoje. Tyrimas buvo vykdomas dvejus metus (2019-2021 m.). Iš viso atliktos keturios apklausos. Pirmoji apklausa buvo atlikta 2019 m. spalio-lapkričio mėn. prieš prasidedant pandemijai. Antroji apklausa vyko po penkių mėnesių, 2020 m. pavasarį (balandžio pabaigoje-gegužės pradžioje), pirmosios pandemijos bangos metu. Trečioji apklausa vyko 2020 m. spalio-lapkričio mėn. prasidėjus antrajai pandemijos bangai. Ketvirtoji apklausa vyko 2021 m. pavasarį (kovo-balandžio mėn.) antrosios pandemijos bangos nuosmukio metu. Visų keturių tyrimų intervalai buvo panašūs, jų medianos skirtumas buvo 23-24 savaitės. Tyrimo imtis 1268 paaugliai iš 36 gimnazijų skirtingose Lietuvos vietovėse.\n<br><br>\nThe sample is diverse in terms of family and socio-economic backgrounds. Through a multi-stage sampling procedure, 14 out of the 60 Lithuanian urban and rural municipalities were selected based on balanced quotas for socioeconomic indicators and school achievement levels (low, medium, and high). Gymnasiums in selected municipalities were then chosen based on their size and school achievement levels to ensure diversity in the sample. Tyrimui atrinktos skirtingo tipo (miesto, rajono, žiedinė) savivaldybės su vidutiniais, žemesniais už vidutinius ir aukštesniais už vidutinius SEK aplinkos bei pasiekimų rodikliais.\n<br>\n<b>Trečiame imties</b> sudarymo etape iš pasirinktų savivaldybių buvo atrinktos tyrime dalyvauti kviečiamos gimnazijos. Siekiant palyginamumo ir atsižvelgiant į tyrimo dizainą (tęstinis tyrimas) bei į tyrimo apimtis ir resursus, dalyvauti tyrime buvo kviečiamos tik gimnazijos (nebuvo kviečiamos progimnazijos, vidurinės mokyklos, profesinės mokyklos). Dėl ribotų tyrimo apimčių nebuvo siekiama ir sudaryti palyginamo dydžio grupių iš mažiau paplitusių mokyklų tipų (pvz., specializuotų sporto, meno mokyklų). Taip pat į tyrimą įtrauktos tik gimnazijos, kuriose mokoma lietuvių kalba, neįtraukiant gimnazijų, kurios veikia didelę tautinę įvairovę turinčiose apskrityse ir savivaldybėse. \n<br>\nMažesnėse savivaldybėse dalyvauti buvo kviečiamos visos gimnazijos, o didesnėse – dalis, atsižvelgiant į numatomą devintokų skaičių 2019/2020 m. m. bei mokinių PUPP ir VBE pasiekimus 2018 m. Šiame atrankos etape buvo siekiama, kad iš tos pačios savivaldybės kviečiamų gimnazijų mokinių pasiekimai atspindėtų įvairovę savivaldybių viduje. Kartu buvo siekiama, kad visos imties požymiai – mokinių skaičius, mokinių pasiekimai, atitiktų bendrą šalies vidurkį, t. y. imtyje nedominuotų nei mažos, nei didelės, nei aukštesnių, nei žemesnių pasiekimų mokyklos. Galutinį kviečiamų mokyklų sąrašą sudarė 39 gimnazijos. Iš gavusių pakvietimus trys tyrime dalyvauti atsisakė. \n<br>\nAtrinktose mokyklose dalyvauti tyrime buvo kviečiami I gimnazijos klasės mokiniai. Iš mažų mokyklų buvo kviečiami visi I klasės mokiniai, o iš didesnių – apie pusę visų besimokančių I gimnazijos klasėse. Pakviestų dalyvauti mokinių tėvai iš tyrimo koordinatorių mokyklose gavo informacinius lapus apie tyrimo tikslus ir eigą, prašymus leisti jų vaikams dalyvauti tyrime ir rašytinio sutikimo formas. Iš 1598 pakviestų tėvų sutiko ir pateikė pasirašytus sutikimus 1291 (80,7 %). Likusieji arba išreiškė raštišką nesutikimą (n = 244; 15 %), arba negrąžino sutikimo formos (n = 59; 15 %).
