&lt;p> Area B. The lesson plans and tasks for grades 5–6 provide a sequential, systematic, and environmentally appropriate introduction to the fundamentals of algorithmic thinking and programming, based on creativity, exploration, and creative application. All topics in the lesson plans are introduced using Scratch, a visual programming language that is familiar to students, as well as other platforms such as Code.org, which help to convey abstract programming concepts in an understandable and engaging way.&lt;p>
