citizens' attitudes towards the European Union, Lithuania's EU membership and to investigate changes in judgement on Lithuania's EU membership after accession and reasons for the change.
&lt;br>&lt;b>&lt;i>Major investigated questions&lt;/i>&lt;/b>: respondents were asked whether they are interested in the Lithuania's EU membership and in the European Union on the whole; do they have sufficient information on the membership of Lithuania in the EU and what information on the European Union do they need (history and development of the EU, European Constitution, EU budget formation and allotment; business opportunities in EU countries; opportunity to use EU support; culture of various countries of the EU, etc.). 
Changes in respondents' judgement on Lithuania's EU membership after accession and reasons for the change were tested. Respondents pointed out EU membership advantages (economic situation in Lithuania will be better; more foreign investments; opportunity to make use of EU structural funds; people will be able to work in other countries of the European Union; better social security, etc.) and disadvantages (people's life will worsen; Lithuania will lose its political sovereignty; Lithuania will become backward province of Europe; most gifted people will leave Lithuania, etc.); assessed the changes in various life spheres in Lithuania (situation of Lithuanian culture; situation of agriculture; national security; social security; economic development; situation of youth; education; relations with Russia; protection of consumer rights, etc.).
Respondents also answered questions focusing on their attitudes towards the influence of EU membership on democracy development in Lithuania; on the ability of Lithuania to compete with other EU members; on the most suitable period for the introduction of the euro; on the preservation of national identity and originality in Lithuania as the member of the European Union.
Respondents' intention to go away to some other EU country for legal work was investigated. 
As well respondents were asked about their interest in the work of Lithuanian representatives at the European Parliament, Constitution of the European Union, representing Lithuania in the European Union, and EU institutions in general; interest in EU support for Lithuania; sources and spread of information on the European Union; attitudes towards information on the European Union, EU support, European Parliament, European Constitution provided by TV, radio, national and regional press, information centres, stands, Internet, municipalities, other state institutions, seminars. 
It was queried if respondents trust in general information on the European Union and whether they trust in information on the EU, its support, European Parliament, European Constitution provided by church, local authoritative persons, friends, scientists, politicians, foreign experts, journalists, business representatives, show-business representatives, culture activists.
Also respondents' knowledge of Europe Direct information centres functioning at district centres; toll-free number of Europe Direct information telephone 00 800 67891011; EU information boards at municipal libraries was tested. 
At last it was aimed to identify respondents' judgement on the transparency of support administration for various sectors in EU and Lithuanian institutions; attitudes towards the opportunity to make use of EU support for business project and for additional resources to develop business.
