Lithuania's citizens' views on political situation in Lithuania and to identify political and electoral preferences.
Major investigated questions: It was sought to identify respondents' voting for a concrete person at the presidential election in the Republic of Lithuania, June 13, 2004 (for Valdas Adamkus, Kazimira Prunskienė, did not vote) and presumption to vote for a concrete person in case the presidential election is at the moment; as well identified respondents' voting for a concrete list of the multi-mandate district at the last legislative election in October 10, 2004 (Lithuanian Freedom Union, Union of Peasants and New Democratic Parties, Labour Party, A. Brazauskas' and A. Paulauskas' coalition "Work for the Sake of Lithuania", etc.).
Respondents were asked whether the present government is able to solve problems in Lithuania; how do they assess the work of present government under the leadership of A. Brazauskas; who is a person able to lead the new cabinet of ministers and which coalition is the best for Lithuania in the present parliament; what is their attitude towards the use of election ahead of time in Lithuania and which political forces could ensure better legislative activity by forming a majority in the parliament through the oncoming election.
Respondents also answered questions focusing on what newspaper mostly provides with political news ("15 minutes", "Lietuvos rytas", "Respublika" or other); what information telecast is the most trustworthy (LTV "Panorama" and news, LNK news, The First Baltic Channel "Lietuvos laikas" or other); what personal telecasts reflect important political issues in the best way ("Without anger", "Press club", "The last institution" or other); what information and discussion broadcast is the most trustworthy (the first programme of the Lithuanian radio, "Radiocentras", "M-1" or other) and what Internet information portal reflect important political issues in the best way (Delfi.lt, Lrytas.lt or other).
Also probed were respondents' views on everyday matters at one's residence place; on the ways of empowering authorities of the smallest administrative district (local inhabitants elect the smallest administrative district council; local inhabitants elect the district head; the government of the Republic of Lithuania appoints district head, etc.); on the transfer of some governmental authority to municipalities or regions; on citizens' influence on municipal decisions.
