They were also asked whether they feel safe form the offenses in Lithuania and what is the main factor influencing their sense of security or insecurity. Respondents indicated the offenses in Lithuania they care about most and also evaluated social and legal protection of the crime victims of in Lithuania. They were also asked whether the information about crime victims' rights and its defense opportunities is sufficient and whether they know at least one NGO providing services to the victims of crime. Respondents evaluated the practice of such organizations. Respondents were asked whether they know that the state provides free legal assistance to victims of crime, as well as compensates the damage for the victims of violent crimes. Respondents also assessed the severity of the punishments for the offenses, as well as indicated the measures which are best for reducing crime.
