criminal offenses Lithuanian residents were affected by in 2007.
Major investigated questions: respondents were asked whether their property valued over 130 Lt had been stolen or an attempt had been made to steal it. The study aimed to find out whether respondents had been beaten or otherwise physically assaulted, causing pain or health impairment. Questions were asked about whether someone had satisfied sexual desire against the respondent's will and whether their property had been taken using physical force or threats of immediate violence. Respondents were asked whether someone had fraudulently taken their property or intentionally destroyed property valued over 130 Lt. The study investigated whether someone had illegally destroyed, damaged, or restricted access to electronic data, causing harm exceeding 130 Lt. Respondents were asked whether any public official demanded or provoked them to give a bribe, and whether someone had offered, given, or sold narcotic or psychotropic substances for non-medical purposes. They were asked whether they had experienced someone in a public place displaying disrespect toward others or the environment through aggressive behavior, offensive language, threats, bullying, or vandalism, disturbing public peace or order. The study examined whether respondents feel safe in Lithuania from various criminal offenses. A question was asked about whether respondents would take active steps to prevent a criminal act if it was not directed at them or their family members. Respondents were asked whether they had been in a situation in 2007 where they could have taken action to prevent a crime and whether they actually did so. Those who did nothing were asked why they did not take action. Finally, questions were asked about whether respondents feel safe in Lithuania and what most contributes to their sense of insecurity.
