Dataverse collection BALTIC100 hosts historical statistical data about Lithuania in the years 1920-2020+, which were collected by researchers from the Institute of Sociology and Social Work of the Faculty of Philosophy of Vilnius University, who participated in the implementation of the project „Quantitative Data About Societal and Economic Transformations in the Regions of the Three Baltic States During the Last Hundred Years for the Analysis of Historical Transformations and the Overcoming of Future Challenges“. The project was implemented by a consortium consisting of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Latvia; coordinating institution), Norwegian School of Economics NHH (Norvegija), Tartu University (Estonia), Vilniaus University (Lithuania). The project was implemented in 2021-2024 under financial support from the Baltic Research Programme Baltic Research Programme. It is a joint research program of three Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, funded from the funds of financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) States (Iceland and Liechtenstein) and Norway 2014-2021. The project leader was a leading researcher at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Dr. hist. Gatis Krūmiņš. The leader of Lithuanian research group that worked in the project was Habil. dr. Zenonas Norkus, Professor at the Institute of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University (ORCID: 0000-0001-6364-0716). Other participant researchers, who were employed by the Institute of Sociology and Social Work of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Vilnius University during the project: Adomas Klimantas (at that time also a PhD student at Oxford University (ORCID: 0009-0006-0887-7909), Prof. Dr. Jurgita Markevičiūtė (ORCID: 0000-0002-9653-7798), Dr. Vytautas Valatka.
The focus of the project's research was the long-term trends of cross-regional economic and social inequality in the Baltic States to be usable for the informational needs of contemporary regional policy-making. Therefore, historical statistical data in published collections are grouped according to the actual division of Lithuania (and the same applies to other Baltic countries) into NUTS2 and NUTS3 regions (in Lithuania, NUTS3 regions are equivalent to counties). Dataverse kolekcijoje BALTIC100 publikuojami istorinės statistikos duomenys apie Lietuvą 1920-2020+ metais, kuriuos surinko Vilniaus Universiteto Filosofijos fakulteto Sociologijos ir socialinio darbo instituto tyrėjai, dalyvavę įgyvendinant projektą „Kiekybiniai duomenys apie visuomenines ir ekonomines transformacijas trijų Baltijos šalių regionuose per paskutinį šimtmetį istorinių transformacijų analizei ir būsimų iššūkių įveikai“. Projektą įgyvendino konsorciumas, kurį sudarė: Vidžemės taikomųjų mokslų universitetas (Latvija; koordinuojanti institucija), Norvegijos ekonomikos mokykla NHH (Norvegija), Tartu universitetas (Estija), Vilniaus universitetas (Lietuva). Projektas įvykdytas 2021-2024 m., finansiškai remiant Baltijos mokslinių tyrimų programai. Tai jungtinė trijų Baltijos valstybių – Lietuvos, Latvijos ir Estijos – mokslo programa, finansuojama iš Europos ekonominės erdvės (EEE) valstybių (Islandijos ir Lichtenšteino) bei Norvegijos 2014–2021 m. finansinių mechanizmų lėšų. Projekto tyrimų dėmesio centre buvo ilgalaikės Baltijos šalių regionų ekonominės ir socialinės nelygybės tendencijos, orientuojantis į šiuolaikinės regioninės politikos informacinius poreikius. Todėl istoriniai statistiniai duomenys skelbiamuose rinkiniuose sugrupuoti pagal šiuolaikinius NUTS2 ir NUTS3 regionus (dabartines apskritis). Daugiau informacijos apie projektą ir rezultatus žr.
